"Variable is assigned but not used" error
Feb 23rd, 2010, 12:24pm

Hello,

I tried to compile a Visual Studio solution with MonoDevelop. The Build fails because of the following error:

"The variable `position' is assigned but its value is never used (CS0219)"

From the text of the message I would expect this to be a warning and not an error. Is this a bug in MonoDevelop or is there a compiler option to report certain warnings as errors or is this really an error in C#?
I'm new to Mono so I'm a little clueless how to solve this problem. If I remove the line that produces this error I get another one in an other file on the next build process and this goes on and on, so I would prefer a solution where this "error" is treated as a warning so I don't have to worry about this any more.

My specs:
Ubuntu 9.10
Monodevelop 2.2
Mono 2.4.2.3
