Help or SampleCode for mono and GTK# Events ?
Jan 14th, 2009, 9:14am

Hi !

I'm relatively new to mono and gtk#, however I'm experienced in GUI and C++ programming. Came from Windows... I'm actually having some problems understanding all the GTK# events and if/when/to which widget or window they are raised.

For example, my Dialogs don't receive DeleteEvents and I can't "cancel" closing a window (e.G. I don't want a dialog to be closed without further message if the user have entered unsaved data, but from the ButtonClickedEvent or the onResponseEvent handler, I can't "cancel" the action as there is no return value resp. it's ignored....)

Similar problems with initialization. I'm not sure what events are send send for which type of window during initialization/unitialization. Widgets seem to receive the Realized/Unrealized events, but what does my dialog get ? The constructor isn't always suitable for intialization of all contents...

All tutorials I googled so far (looking for quite a while now) are really like beginners stuff not actually helping with events in detail. Any good references or sample source out there ? Any other helps ?

Thanks a lot !!!!!!!!!
